Of course, we brought our babies to Oregon with us. They have their own special page:
Little did we know when we moved to Milwaukie, Oregon that our neighborhood would be wholly owned, operated, and ruled by felines. There are literally hundreds of cats roaming about our neighborhood (no, they're not usually strays, either - they own people who live in the neighborhood but prefer to run and prowl outdoors). Some of our daily acquaintances include:
Juice (a.k.a. JOE)
Juice was abandoned by the previous owners of our house. While this is horrible and we will never forgive them, Joe (which is what WE named him) has become our third pet, and we've been feeding him every
day. He's quite vocal, and whines every time we make eye contact, but he really just wants plenty of attention and brushing, as well as 13 tons of food each day.
Fuzzy Scaredy: (Picture not yet available)
Fuzzy Scaredy hangs out in our yard a lot when he doesn't think we're looking - but if we make our presence known, he skedaddles quickly. He looks really cool, with long hair and an emotional face, Jenny would love to pet him a few times but we haven't been able to get close to him.
Rascal: (Picture not yet available)
One of the other cats that belong to the next-door neighbor, Rascal doesn't come over much. She is pre-occupied with a kitten that has come to live with her, she thinks she's the mother.
(Black Kitten): (Picture not yet available)
This little guy moved in behind us, and he likes to play in our plants. Jenny gave him a fake mouse and he went nuts. However, we learned quickly that if you make friends quickly with a kitten, he/she will never leave your sight - we had to scoop him up and walk around the neighborhood knocking on doors to find the rightful "owners" and pass him off.
He'll be back.
(Grey Bug-Eye): (Picture not yet available)
This guy lives directly behind us and comes through our yard sometimes. He likes to sit on the roof of our garage (so does Mr. Squirrelly). Other times he just sits in his yard and stares at us. He looks quite small and has these crazy eyes.
Katie:
Katie is really annoying. She just wants us to pet her and occasionally she wants to eat Joe's food, but she will NEVER go away and she keeps rubbing on our legs and meowing at the door like she lives here. In reality, she belongs to the next-door neighbors. If she weren't cute, Ben would kick her to the neighbor's yard where she belongs.
